The Parasound ZM650 is a high fidelity 'Universal' 6 Channel 12 Speaker power amplifier, for custom installation projects where audio quality is paramount.

The ZM650 is the perfect low profile but high performance custom installation product, built with reliability, performace and adaptability all in mind. The ZM650 could be viewed in it's purest form as a high fidelity 3 zone power amplifier with A & Bspeaker outputs for each zone. it's ultra compact 1U form features 3 high performance Class D specification amplifiers, with legendary Parasound Class AB input stages.

Parasound's ZM650 like the rest of the ZoneMaster range uses a highly regarded Swedish Class D amplifier design to get the best performance - and in this is worked in tandem with Parasound's consistent approach at the manufacturing level in that it uses only the best high-grade parts to ensure that it's performance is musical, reliable and powerful. Furthermore - this 'addiction' to ensuring sonic integrity is enhanced further with additional output filtering and a class AB input stage, and the result is a great sounding amp that is stable with low impedance loads and with reduced heat.

Despite it's compact footprint the ZM650 can output 50 watts RMS x 4 @ 8Ω, with all channels driven, and for higher impedance loads it will even output up to 90 watts RMS into x 4 @ 4Ω & 2Ω loads, all channels driven. If you require provision for higher power applications, then again the Parasound ZM650 will cater for both situations as it can be run in bridged mono providing 160 watts x 3 @ 8Ω (Bridged Mode) & 200 watts x 3 @ 4Ω (Bridged Mode). This flexibility means that it can be also used as a designated and high performance home cinema amplifier (perfect for use with a processor for your front left, centre and right channels), or for high quality semi-commercial applications for powering larger spaces effectively.

Each zone on the ZM650 has dedicated A & B speaker outputs - so that if used in a 'zonal' configuration two pairs of speakers can be neatly and seamlessly connetced up and powered. The amplifier has discrete rear mounted level controls for each channel, and has easy to use and handy detachable phoenix style speaker connectors that will handle up to 12 gauge speaker cable, perfect for those longer runs or higher power applications. Scalability is also built in mind as it also benefits from both bus inputs (and loop output for sending audio to additional amplifiers) and independent zone line inputs. The ZM650's line inputs can be set up to use ultra-sensitive audio triggering for automatic turn on with signal source sensing, and it also has designated zone specific 12v trigger inputs for automatic turn on - and also powered 12v zonal and global output to triggers for other devices/amplifiers.

Each zone as alluded to above can be set to work for standard stereo applications - or set up to work in mono mode as well, which is ideal for using the ZM650 as 3 high powered mono blocks effectively for larger floor standing speakers etc. or the requirement to fill larger areas with a big high quality sound-stage. Additionally; like the rest of the ZoneMaster series - the ZM650 also has the provision of a mono mode, that combines L and R for single speaker applications means that it can be used highly effectively in corridors or semi commercial installations where stereo imaging is not beneficial - but where reliability and sonics are too. Also, this feature also provides a potential 'get out of jail card' for 'compromised' installations too where someone has overlooked running a pair of speaker cables to a dual voice coil speaker for instance etc.
